I am a citizen and a student ( married and >21 years old, my hu*****and has stable income). My parents never visited me in USA so far. This school year is the last one in campus. Next year I will just do clinical rotation. Therefore I would like my parents to come over next year. There are two options but I don't know which one would bring them here next summer. They live in a village, don't know any English; it is not easy for them to go through an interview process (neither for a visiting visa nor an immigration visa).
(1) apply for a visiting visa. I heard that chance of success is low because I am a citizen. Is it true or it depends?
(2) file a petition (I-130 and I-485). I don't have any problem to initiate the process right now, but how long is it going to take generally?
Thank you very much for any suggestion or experience sharing.
