When you leave U.S. for canada or Mexico with a valid I-94, and come back within 30 days, you are not considered as leaving U.S. and re-entering U.S.for immigration point of view. So, you do not need to provide the i-94 when you leave, and you do not need to get a visa and a new I-94 when you come back.
