Your case is H1B transfer. You are able to work for the new employee immediately after you get the receipt notice. However, your new employer just wants you to start in the middle of July. So just stop working for old employee before 7/1 and start working for the new one, you will be fine.

When USCIS approves your H1B, there should no be any gap between your old and new H1B. Even though you did not work for the new company in the first half of July while the H1B is effective, it is like a short unpaid leave which will not cause any trouble to you.

Just remember you MUST stop working for the old company when your old H1B expires.
