Jiayo, can you please share with me the result if you check with the lawyer? I am facing the same situation. I will relocate to different state from California, but will stay in the same company, same department and do the same job, furthermore, also keep the same salary. Comparingly, California's salary is higher than what the people pay in the other state. I consulted my company lawyer, he said i am safe to go anywhere. But after reading your post, I start to worry about this.
