what is the reason for I485 denial? If it is because you are inadmissible, you won't get visa either.

Also, what year of H1 approval? FFY2009 cap H1 or other? You can go to visa interview and reenter ASAP unless it's FY2009 cap. No I-824 needed. Again, if you were deemed inadmissible, no need to try H1, but should use waiver and hardship reason to get GC.
