Help on I-485

My wife’s I-140 is EB2. Her priority date is Aprl, 2005. She filled her I-485 in 2006. I am filling my current EB1-B now.

My question is:

Can we link her current I-485 to my I-140? If yes, do we have problem that if my I-140 got denied, and her I-485 also got denied and she have to refile her I-485 based on her approved I-140 (EB2)?

If we can not link her current I-485 to my I-140 and we refile her I-485, she will have two I-485s. Is it ok to have two I-485s? If yes, the question is again that if my I-140 got denied, will her old(first) I-485 be still valid? Or she have to refile her I-485 based on her approved I-140 (EB2)?
