kid's Name check

Both I and my wife's I-485 got approved last month, but not for my 16-year old boy. Today I went to an immigration office for Infopass appointment and was told that my son's name check is still pending since Mar 15, 2006.
What kind of thing I can do to speed up the NC? write to FBI, write to senator, write to first lady? any advice and suggestion will welcome and appreciated. Thanks
