Remember the root cause of this problem is per country quota and retrogression. All tie to the fundamental immigration policy. Without this root cause, the July VB scandal wouldn't have happened at the first place.
Without the change in immigration policy, all we can get is to wait in the same line inside the door rather than outside the door. What's the difference? EAD and AP. Like the other thread pointed out, how many people really need them badly.
If there's huge backlog of 485, it takes longer to get 485 approved. Before approval, one needs to spend money each other to renew their EAD and AP if they apply for them. Yes, we can potentially escape from the 485 increase upfront, but we will be trapped into another cage of paying annual fee for EAD and AP.
