Of course, you can relink your 485 to other type of 140. But that does not mean your RD of 485 is changed. The reason for relink is that different category has different requirements on applicants: For instance, for empolyer sponsed EB, you have to wait for 180 days to change your job after you ted your 485, but you don't have to if your 485 is based on NIW. There are some other differences.
