c/o means "care of". Usually used in mail handling to avoid signing problem.
Say your name is Mary Wang but you want to receive a letter through a another person John Zhang at his address. If you put:
Mary Wang
John's address
as your address, when a mail comes to him John cannot sign for it because is the letter is not address to John. So you put your address like:
Mary Wang
c/o John Zhang
John's address
Then John can sign for it.
