EAD and Name Check

First of all, I would appreciate all those who provide useful information and share their epxerience here. My I-140 was approved in March 2005 and I-485 was filde few days later. A lot of friends who filed at almost the same time have got there Greencard almost two years ago. But mine was still under name check. My name is very unusal, you can only google less than 100 items. I was told by USCIS it started on April 18 2005, about half month after I filed I-485. My application is NIW-based, I have used AP beofre. So I used EAD last year when I changed my job in the same field of the same category (postdoc). But now I am thinking to find a job in industry.
Could anybody please tell me whether it's fine, in the same field (biomedical)? Also, I want to know how many people who filed their I-485 in March and April of 2005 are still stucked in NC? I just want to know whether the stuck is because nobody pay attention to our cases or FBI is really working on them. Thanks for your attantion.
