First, what about the interviews and local offices others mentioned for I-485? After NC, what's next?

Another totally unrelated q: my in laws' application for extension to stay here in the U.S.: recently we got approval letter, but, we applied for 6 months (from Jan to July 2007), however, they granted only 3 months, and the truly weird thing is, they granted the second half, from April to July. How can that be??
