The reason that you can work is that there will be two result for you: one is if your case is denied, then you will not have chance to work in America. Therefore, you will not get any visa in America in the future, and if you will not work in your company, there is not illegal problem for your company. Another is that once your case is approved, the date which will start from your form EAD's expire date. So there is not any problem for your company. However, it is up to your company because HR may not know too much about immigration law
