If I were u, would ask the ex-w/h to get a finalized divorce certificate in China. Since he/she may need it too. If mediation was done by certain party, ask this party to make an affidavit and notarize the affidavit in China: (stating that the mediation fails, then divorce is final.the parties are free to remarry) the party must have the authority to mediate the matter for u.
same time, get the martial settlement agreement translated and notarized in China.
change notary if the one you went could not do it.
Saw one notarized was done in Shanghai.
the NOTARY in China DOES not act under the same rule
