Ask XiaoBaiTu and other people who have the experiences

I have to land on Canada before the end of May. I got a lot of information from here recently, it's very helpful. Thanks a lot. But according to my situation, I still have some questions.

1, All my family members are I-485 pending. We never use AP and EAD. We have H1-B. My son is H4. And we never go to abroad. Can we use H1 to return to
America safely after landing Canada? It seems have two different opinons here. One is using AP; The other is using H1.

2. It's very hard for us to land on time. Is there some way to postpone the landing date? Who do we need to contact with?
