What do you think if you were me?

I'm holding H1-B visa (this year is my sixth year of H1-B) and plan to come back to China for about 5 months. I have two questions:
1. Can I also go to Mexico to get the visa? Will the visa be valid for about 5 months?
2. If I apply for H1-B visa in China, will I get it? (I came in US in 1997 with F2. Then switched to F1 and then H1-B. Not sure if it is an easy case for visa interview.) If I got rejected, can I apply for H4 as my hu*****and holds H1-B and he will stay in US (he won't come back with me this time.)

What would you do in my case?

Any suggestions or comments are greatly appreciated!
