I hold H1b and lost job, then applied F1 one month ago. Now, I got 3-6 month contract offer. I felt it is a risk to switch h1- f1back and forward. I asked my attorny, he suggested that I can take the offer to apply h1b, but don't cancel f1 application. so that I am safer to keep status to apply f1 and h1 at the same time. (either one has the possiblities to be denied, but the possiblities of being denied for both is smaller). I can keep work and look for other jobs when I am employed at the same time. Also, I can continue my f1 if contractor terminated.
