I really don't think JN's miserable life is caused by HS solo. He is part of reasons but not the root cause. The root cause is her selfish and uneducated parents neglected her since childhood to create the impaired personality: she doesn't know how to love herself and love others. She cannot face the reality and move on even she thought she did.

If she is in USA, she might need to see a psychiatrist.
