MONTHLY OVERVIEW
Rest up, Pisces. The first three weeks of February could find you burning the candle at both ends as the Sun moves through Aquarius, your sleepy 12th house of endings and rest. It’s your annual time to put the finishing touches on projects before your birthday. On February 18, the Sun enters Pisces, resetting your solar calendar. When energizer Mars and communicative Mercury join the party a couple of days later, you’re flooded with ideas and can-do energy. It’s out of the shadow and right into the spotlight for you, so rest up while you can.

A major event this month is Chiron’s move into Pisces on February 8. Chiron isn’t an actual planet, but it’s regarded as a powerful force by many astrologers. It’s known as the “wounded healer,” and its presence in your sign for the next seven years will reshape the way you see and present yourself. It’s time to address and heal the part of you that wants to hide or that struggles with issues of self-consciousness, even body shame. Were you once punished for speaking up, or made fun of for how you looked or talked? Whatever wound you’re carrying, Chiron will help you soothe it at its source.

On February 18, the Leo full moon in your sector of health and organization puts you in get-’er-done spirits. You’re ready to tackle that pile of paperwork, or tear through your cupboards and toss out those processed and packaged “comfort” foods. However, with stressful Mars and foggy Neptune opposing this moon, you could be stopped in your tracks by a surge of unexpected emotions. It might feel bad, but it’s actually good news: You’ve struck on some unresolved feelings that explain why you’ve been inhaling junk food or stuffing unopened bills out of sight. Resist the urge to escape into denial. Grab your journal or call a trusted friend and get to the bottom of this already.

LOVE & ROMANCE
You’re craving freedom this month, because romantic Venus is in Capricorn, your independent 11th house. If you’re in a relationship that’s gotten too couple-y, take a few nights off to hang with friends or enjoy some unstructured playtime. The 11th house rules friends, so take your sweetie out to parties or hang out with a group. How about a getaway with some pals?

The weekend before Valentine’s Day could be fun, but the actual holiday is a bust, at least in the stars. Not only is it on a Monday, but the planets loosely form a challenging “grand cross,” pulling you in contrasting directions. One part of you feels emotionally claustrophobic and just wants to rebel against the whole damn commercialized affair. Who needs red roses and chocolates … right? Right? Yet, another side of you emerges that’s jealous or possessive, and even in the mood to stir up drama. Uh-oh.

Pisces, take a big step back before you react or fly off the handle. There’s an incredible amount of pressure loaded onto this holiday, even though it may seem silly. With the planets facing each other down, most people will be impossible to please on this V-Day. Don’t be a people-pleaser or just go along with the crowd — say what you want (within reason). Stop worrying about what others think, and stand up for your choices. If you’re planning a big romantic blowout, be careful not to overspend. Even if you tell yourself the romantic memory will be worth every penny, you may not feel that way when the bill arrives next month. Leave the credit cards at home and look for a Groupon or special prix-fixe dinner that fits your budget.

MONEY & CAREER
Open wide your wallet — pennies are raining from heaven! Lucky Jupiter is now firmly ensconced in Aries, your second house of work and money. Jupiter is here through June 4, bringing exciting opportunities to earn more, travel (or possibly relocate) for business or to snag that promotion. Work becomes inspiring and fulfilling again, and if Jupiter’s 2010 tour through Pisces sparked some great new ideas, now you can begin putting a solid structure behind them.

The caveat is that restrictive Saturn is retrograde (moving backward) in your house of long-term finance and joint property. So while you may be earning more, there could be some debt, back taxes or other obligations that demand some of your hard-earned cash. If not, you may be tempted to invest some of this new financial flow, but you’re better off waiting until Saturn goes direct (forward) on June 12. Funnel a few bucks into savings or a retirement fund, rather than splashing out on extravagant indulgences. Risk-loving Jupiter tempts you to gamble, but impulse buys are a no-no.

The Aquarius new moon on February 2 forms an auspicious angle to Saturn. It’s a good time to explore doing work you love, or possibly some volunteer work on the side. You’re craving a deeper spiritual connection to your money and the way you earn it. You could receive news of an inheritance or a grant near this new moon, too. The Leo full moon on February 18 is the perfect time to clean the heck out of your work space and get life back into order. Simplify and beautify. You may find something surprising in those stacks of paper, or that cluttered e-mail in-box. Avoid office gossip near the full moon, especially spreading it via e-mail, and keep your cards close to your vest.

HEALTH: MIND, BODY & SOUL
You’ll need extra rest for the first three weeks of February. The Sun and several planets are cruising through Aquarius, your 12th house of endings and the subconscious. Good health comes from eliminating some things, too — whether that means kicking cigarettes, ending a toxic relationship pattern or feng shui–ing the heck out of your house. You can’t create good habits on top of bad ones, so take stock of where closure is needed in your life.

This month’s new and full moons emphasize starting new health habits and kicking poor ones. The February 2 Aquarius new moon begins a new spiritual chapter, tuning you in to your deeper emotions, as well as any addictive vices caused by not addressing them. The February 18 Leo full moon brings the last six months of your health-and-fitness efforts to a peak. You’ll see the results of your work, for better or for worse. This is a day to take inventory of your self-care, especially the stress levels in your life. You may need to bow out of a commitment that’s draining you. Trust that another opportunity will come along. Right now, your well-being is the priority.

Body image gets an overhaul starting February 8, when “wounded healer” Chiron enters Pisces for seven years. Chiron in your sign helps you address any long-standing self-consciousness or body dissatisfaction. Are you a yo-yo dieter or a bit too obsessed with looking perfect? It’s time to deal with the emotions behind it all, and to fill that spiritual hunger or emptiness.
