Dell, HP Lead U.S. Stocks Lower -- Market Talk
1624 ET - U.S. stocks fall ahead of Thanksgiving, but remain on track to end the week and month higher. Dell shares fall 12% after the computer maker's guidance misses analyst expectations. Its rival HP also disappoints and sees its stock fall 11%. The two tech companies are the biggest losers on the S&P 500. Urban Outfitters rises 18% on better-than-expected sales. U.S. activity and labor data largely meet expectations, leaving investors waiting for the payrolls report next week. Stock and bond markets are closed tomorrow.
