另類高利息Checking Account

我的出租房都是物業管理公司管理的，每個月近15號才能收到租金的direct deposit。而每月自動設置的貸款付款都是在這之前。也就是說每個月我是先付貸款，然後才能收到租金，這樣銀行賬號裏不得不保持不少的現金，為下個月的付貸款做準備。而銀行賬號裏的現金基本是沒利息的，對此我一直感到十分不爽。

一兩年前曾經嚐試想看看能不能找到有足夠利息的checking account，結果無功而返，那些給利息的checking account，給的利息也都低得讓人惡心。

前些日子在一個論壇上發現有人推薦WealthFront的 Individual Cash Account，覺得不錯，就申請了一個。

首先，WealthFront的Individual Cash Account 並不是真正的銀行checking account，而是 brokerage account with checking account feature。

這是它的一些優點：

• 無費用
• No minimum balance requirement
• 目前利息5%，利率隨Fed Fund Rate浮動(目前Fed Fund Rate 是5.25~5.5%)，可隨時存取，利息按天算，利息月底結算到賬
• 有8米的FDIC保險，一般銀行是25萬，它實際是分散到多個銀行
• 可以direct deposit
• 可以ACH 付款和echeck付款
• 有ATM和Debt Card
• 可以Deposit Check

它的一些缺點：

• Online only , 無法存現金
• 不允許write personal check，盡管可以用echeck
• direct deposit的account name必須要跟WealthFront 的account name匹配。比如單獨配偶名字的direct deposit是不接受的。
• ACH debt 的account name可能也必須要匹配（這點不太確定？？？）。
• 無法國際Wire，國內Wire也隻能自己給自己，這樣Wire相當於沒用，誰會吃飽飯撐得自己Wire給自己？！
• ACH每天有限額，每天進最多25萬，出最多5萬，這個有點混蛋。

如果主要用ACH， 或者想存流動資金，順便賺點利息，還是不錯。

我發現，Individual Cash Account跟大的銀行鏈接和轉賬比較容易，跟有些其它的brokerage account鏈接有點麻煩。

WealthFront有Joint Cash Account，但Joint Cash Account沒有 checking Account的功能，他們說今年會加上。

WealthFront的主要Business是Investment Account，這個Cash Account是獨立的賬號。

看到樓下有網友詢問，剛好幾天前我申請了一個，嚐試了一段時間感覺不錯，我自己主要是用Direct Deposit和用ACH自動付房貸和其他費用，這裏分享一下。
