to seal around the vent and any nail holes. the fact that the exposed nails shown in the pictures indicates that the guy who did the roof knows S--T about roofing..

to do roofing properly, all exposed nail heads whether on shingles or metal shoud be covered by tar.

the cracks are not the defect of plastic vents, but because too much force is used when installed.

you will be surprised that how high a percentage of roofers are not up to the job.
