Help! A problem got when using DVD decrypter

learned from internet when usign DVD decrypter to backup a DVD movie, the ripped file should be saved as .iso image file and then burn this file onto the blank DVD. But the burned DVD can not be displayed on windows media player neither Roxio player. Unlike the original DVD, I am not able to view the file on the burned DVD and was told this image file can be opened by either Roxio or DVD decrypter. Did I miss anything here?
