First of all this is pretty much my computer specs currently:
Case: Gateway St Francis Midi Tower
PSU: 250W Newton NPS-250CB A
Mobo: Intel D860GB (proprietary gateway?)
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 1.3Ghz (Willamette)
HDD: Western Digital 80GB IDE
RAM: 2x64MB RDRAM and 2x128MB RDRAM
Pri Optical: DVD Drive
Sec Optical: CD-RW Drive
Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster Live
Video Card: Radeon 9550
FDD: Whatever brand...
Wireless Keyboard+Mouse
Lan: D-Link Wireless DWL-550 PCI Card
Monitor:16' Gateway Monitor
Speakers: Boston Acoustics
When i first bought the computer i only had 2x64MB RDRAM, my HDD was 40GB IDE and my video card was Nvidia GeForce2 MX400. My computer have started freezing when i upgraded the RAM(3 years ago) and replaced my HDD(1-2 years ago). The video card was an add-on after the freezing started(3-6 months ago).
Last week, my computer didn't boot up with the cpu fan not running, no display and no other signals. But now, my computer is able to boot up and run normally now except the freezes that i still get. Sometimes the fan might not work (along with no signal on monitor) and i will switch off the computer for a while and wait a few minutes then switch back on.
I really doubt it is the CPU because all is still working well, i've ran MEMTEST to test my ram and it passed the tests.
That is my computer's history, what do you think?
Thanks for your help.
Help: my desktop pc freezes often.Thx :)
