Most Oracle databases run on unix platform. It is good for VLDB or enterprise database. It is less likely to be replaced with other platform. And your skill will less likely to be obsoleted.
However, companies pay Oracle dba high salary for experience and responsiblity rather than knwledge from books. So it is not easy to find an entry level oracle dba job but you can start from an Oracle developer.
