200G is larger than 137G, which is largest that Win2000 and XP can support without patches. The patches I refer to are Win2000 SP3 and XP SP2. You may lose data if you don't install the OS patches. However, the hardware will stay intact without patches.

Ever with patches installed and HD partion smaller than 137G, I know two instances that date were still lost with 160G HD.

So I just buy 120G HD for data safety reason.
