two month ago I bought compaq celeron 2.4G with XP home addition. Right after I got it at home, I put a WD 180GB harddisk and installed Win2K Server without any problem. I can set the order to boot from disk 1 or disk 2, so can switch Win2K or XP at time I want.
But later I got problem with the rebates, so I had returned that computer. I left the harddisk alone.
Later I bought another computer EMachine with celeron 2.5 GHZ, I put that 180GB hard disk, it still can boot Win2K.
So I didn't get the problem as you said.
