Hello, nkrZero,
Thank you very much for your time and help,
Here are some more detail.
My computer does not start after 3 years usage. My original configurations was:
Configuration A: (original configuration)
Mother board: Abit Is7
Memory:4x256MB
Hard disk: 60GB as primary master IDE
40GB as primary slave IDE
DVD-RW as secondary master IDE
CD-RW as secondary slave IDE
128 MB GPA Video card
450W power supply.
I tested the following combination configurations.
Configuration B: (exchange connections of primary IDE cable and secondary IDE cable)
Mother board: Abit Is7
Memory:4x256MB
Hard disk: 60GB as secondary master IDE
40GB as secondary slave IDE
DVD-RW as primary master IDE
CD-RW as primary slave IDE
128 MB GPA Video card
450W power supply.
Configuration C: (replace power supply to 650W power supply)
Mother board: Abit Is7
Memory:4x256MB
Hard disk: 60GB as primary master IDE
40GB as primary slave IDE
DVD-RW as secondary master IDE
CD-RW as secondary slave IDE
128 MB GPA Video card
650W power supply.
My final configuration is:
Configuration D: (replace power supply to 650W power supply, disconnected 40GB primary slave hard disk)
Mother board: Abit Is7
Memory:4x256MB
Hard disk: 60GB as primary master IDE
40GB as primary slave IDE
DVD-RW as secondary master IDE
CD-RW as secondary slave IDE
128 MB GPA Video card
650W power supply.
Here are steps I did trying to fix my PC start-up problem:
1. I tried to start my PC, PC fans (CPU fan, Power fan, and chipset fan) went on then off immediately. It was tested on configurations A, B, C with the same result.
2. I disconnected my primary slave hard disk (I took off primary slave IDE cable and primary slave power cord off from my primary slave hard disk, which was 40GB hard disk). PC worked normally. It was tested on configuration D also.
3. Changed my PC power supply to 650W power supply, disconnect primary slave hard disk (40GB hard disk). Replaced my primary master hard disk with 80GB hard disk. The fans went on then off.
4. I ran Motherboard Monitor 5.3.7.0 (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=311) and Fresh Diagnose 7.05 (http://www.download.com/3000-2086-10065841.html) on configuration D, they did not find my PC problem.
5. Now my PC works normally in configuration D. This is not my favorable configuration. I need a big disk space. I like configuration A.
Can anyone help me?
Thank you very much.
