By default, Mac browser can read Chinese without user configuration. If you want type in Chinese you can do these: open "system preferences" - "international" in "language tab" select "languages" box and choose Chinese (simplified or traditional) and drag to "scripts" box. On "Input Menu" check the languages of your choice" and click "Option" button to set switch combo key (apple key + space bar or option + apple key + space). Then close system preferences. Done.
Press the Combo key then you will notice Finder menu bar shows language flag icon. Keep hit combo key to see different lanuage selection and input method. For Chinese, there are 7 methods!
