Answer: 1)I do not know; 2)Secure Digital Card, a media storage device, usually used for digital cameral.

Suggestion: I personally do not know anything about this item, but I do not recommend to buy this model since it uses a microdrive. Microdrive is too delicate, any wrong-doing may damage it. I think mini-DV cassete is still the best storage media for DV camcorder.
