in dos:
1)ping gateway.(see if you can connect to you isp)
2)ping 4.2.2.2.(see if you can connect to out side)
3)ping yahoo.com.(see if the dns can solve the name to ip)
if you can ping the ip adress. that seems the dns server has problem.then key in the 4.2.2.2(verizon's dns server) in dns.
