Working while flying
Tips to keep you going while you're on the move.

Squeezing more productivity out of travel time could help your future take off. But it's not always as easy as it sounds. Quiet, cooperative seatmates, the right equipment, and the following tips should help.

Choosing A Power Seat.
To make sure you have a constant supply of power with a laptop on an airplane, you need to choose your seat carefully…literally. Some airlines, like American, offer seating plans on their website (www.aa.com) that specify seats with power outlets so you can choose one while making your reservation.
Sitting in an emergency exit row on a Boeing 747 not only affords you slightly more legroom, it also gives you access to the 110-volt outlet in the outside wall of the emergency exit door.
You'll find power ports in almost all first-class or business-class seats regardless of the airline, but if you're traveling in coach you'll find them in one of the first five rows.
To power your portable device from the seat of an airplane, you will need an air adapter specifically designed to be used with EmpowerTM technology (LINK)
Grab a window seat so you won't have to get up and move every time your row mates need to stretch their legs or use the facilities.
Ask the person in front of you to give you fair warning before they recline so you don't get your laptop squashed. As long as they're not with your competition, they should be happy to comply.
