The router should have an assigned SSID as its private network name. From your machine's wireless connection scan looking for this SSID to connect. Read the manuals, it is not that hard. Usually, the default router wireless connection setting let you connect to it without configuration change. It is the wireless card on your machine that you need to work on. Make sure you install the card in accordance with the manual that come with it.
