about chinese input on PDA..

Thinking of buying a PDA or PDA phone. But want to to input chinese. However, it seems most PDAs selling in US have no chinese version operating system. Does it mean I have to buy it from China? Or I can buy it here and upgrade with chinese OP. sys. later. If so, how to do it?
