, such as chipset or even mobo, are different between two systems, you have to reinstall OS when you swap the harddrives. Why? Because, at least, the IRQ's are configurated differently. Mismatched IRQ's can cause system crash. It's just like transfusion of a different type of blood to a patient can cause death.
