You may want to try this

When you install the pro ( boot up from cd), at the very beginning of the installation, you'll see a message, asking you if you want to install a third party scsi driver by pressing the key "F3", ( or F6, I am not quite sure, but you'll seet it), you have to push the key in order to make the SATA hd bootable.

For the traditional PATA hd, we don't do this. BUt for SATA, you got to install it this way. This is so called" one key does all" solution.
