you should firstly sort out if it is hardware problem or software issue. so
1. install other dvd player, and if working, that's software problem.
2. if not working, that may be hardware problem.
3. you should uninstall properly before reinstall
4. you should check if there is any code area change on you dvd player
5. make sure no virus on your computer
6. make sure operation system working properly.
