Yeah this is a tricky one and I have the same problem for over 1 year already and still no fix. It doesn't stop working for all the movie files but when it does, it playes a few frames and then stops with a black screen, followed with system frozen including mouse, keyborard, and everything else. The only way to get the system back is a cold reboot. For once I thought it might be I was missing some codecs for the movie files I played, but it turned out not to be the case. I reformated the system and reintalled the everything from scratch, still no luck. Damn MSFT!
