try run different cleaning tools under safe mode. may be a RegClean will do something for you. download it from web.
or report it to norton or any other security software makers and wait for update info. what the author brag to say could be a challenge
or re-install your computer - or buy a new iMac for $500 and you will never see problem like this again.
