the main reason to use FF or other browsers is to avoid MS targeted virus attack and security holes. Installation of 3rd party tools will bring you more vulnerable security risks. also, if you use mac instead of window 99%, you can risk to open emails without worrying about be infected, but sending them to others who are using windows, :-). I am sure FF will be here for long time, so are others, like Mozilla, Netscape, Opera... It will be wise: don't put all your eggs into one basket.
