Pioneer invented DVD-R and I think Toshiba invented DVD+R.
Both of them have big companies behind them. Nobody can
actually control the market. Now we have DVD-R and DVD+R.
And panasonic invented DVD-ROM but not as popular. If you
want to buy a DVD recorder then buy the one which supports
both formats.
