Please help! install w/o admin

I inherit a windows 2000 professional laptop at work, I can login into the machine through my network login, but I don't have admin login/passwd since the person already left. When I tried to install some windows components, the system rejected saying I'm not the admin. Is there any way I can get around this since I can login to the machine?
