1. No. You need an IEEE 1394 PCI card installed in your PC
unless your PC already has 1394 port built-in.

2. Normally 1394 PCI card comes with one 1394 cable and an
editting software. You can use the software to transfer
video from you camcorder to your hard disk. You can save
your video in several formats. I'd recommend to use MPEG2
(DVD is based on).

3. Your camcorder it digital camcorder called miniDV camcorder.
And it does have 1394 port.

4. I don't know why.
