I had similar problem on my computer with two monitors. Real player works fine on main monitor, but it becomes all black when the player frame is moved to the 2nd monitor. But microsoft media player works fine on both monitors. You may want to test if media player is fine in your case. If it's working, you can download an alternative real player so that RM and RMVB can be played on MS media player.
