Dear Member,
Thank you for writing to Hotmail Support.
I understand your concern towards the reminder received by you regarding
of signing in to your account atleast once in a month or else it will be closed. I look forward to clear your doubts.
I would like to inform you that the email was a member letter sent by
Hotmail Staff. This letter is just a reminder of Hotmail policy and it
also gives you details about the Extra storage service provided by Hotmail.
I apologize if the message stirred a concern in you or the message was not clear enough.
This letter reminds you that if you do not access your account for more than 30 days, it will be marked inactive and you might loose all information stored in your account. To avoid this you can subscribe for Extra Storage. If you have this subscription, your account remains active till the period of subscription (1 year).
I would further like to inform you that if you access your Hotmail account at least once in a period of 30 days, you can keep your account active. It is not necessary to subscribe for Extra storage.
Since you received this notification, it does not mean that you no longer have your free Hotmail account. You still have your Hotmail account and you can use it till the time you wish to use it. Since its inception, Hotmail usage has grown to over 100 million active accounts, and we're still growing. Hotmail will continue to provide fast, free, private e-mail that you can gain access to any time, from anywhere in the world. From time to time, we keep on sending such notification emails to all our customers. Please read the message carefully and ignore it if it does not apply to you. If you have any doubt in your mind, you can write an email to us.
I once again apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.
If you are referring to any other notification, then please forward a copy of the email to us. We'll investigate it in detail and let you know the result.
Regarding your second issue of the Hotmail promise of increasing your storage limit I can understand your concern, as your Hotmail account's storage space is still reflecting 2 MB and it has not been up graded to 250 MB.
As you know, MSN is upgrading storage limits for customers. With over 170 million Hotmail users, this is going to take some time. I can inform you generally when your account will be upgraded:
• Initial markets (US, UK, JP, CA, AU, DE, FR, and ES): Yes, later this year MSN will be increasing the storage limits on Hotmail to 250MB. However, this up gradation process has already started and the selection of the specific accounts is purely random.
• Remaining World Wide Markets: We are in trial in other markets with increased free storage today to ensure a great user experience before we launch broadly. We will communicate to you once the 250MB is available in your market.
I am sure that the support information provided above will be helpful to you.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.
If you need any further assistance please feel free to email us again. Have a very nice day.
