Firmware is a file for your yrouter security and also avoid signal interferes from others users that live very close to you while using wireless. Upgrade Firmware is replacing your current firmware with the latest firmware file. Here is what you need to do, go to the support page and ask them where to downloading the latest firmware by email. Once you get an answer, download the firmware file to you desktop. Then connect to your router again, on your IE, type 192.168.1.1, again, you will have the same error message you had earlier.
