for the NTFAT i am not sure. If your PC used Windows 98 or Windows ME, you can try to reinstall 98 Without Format your hard drive (Very important), Windows 98 will scan and fix your hard drive before reinstall 98.
Your Directory Structure and File System will be fixed.
At this time, you may possiablely still can not install 98 but you can see all renamed folders ( or called Directories) under DOS pompt. Such as DIR100001, DIR10002... they contain all your files.
