Re: About VNC server

If you were prompted the password dialogue window, the VNC server on the remote computer was running fine and ready for receiving connection.

So you probably typed the wrong password.

In addition, you should know that the password is transfered in plain text for a normal vnc session. This is fine if both your server and client are within a LAN; otherwise it could be a security problem. You better tune the vnc session through a encrypted channel (ssh, ssl, or somthing else).
