My CD-RW Rom stop reading disc

While I was playing a music disc, my CD-Rom suddently stopped working. From then on, it doesn't read any disc, not matter data or music, nor does it burn. The CD-Rom icon still shows in My Computer but with no content. Device Manager indicated it is working properly. What can I do with it? Is it dead? Thank you very much!
