help! no display on LCD

I have a one-year old Toshiba Windows XP. Since a couple of months ago, the LCD display becomes black, just no display (although I can connect the notebook to other monitors for display). I did virus scan, reformated the operation system, but in 2 weeks' time, the display disappears again!

Anyone has similar experience and clue to this problem? A lot of thanks!
